<image:caption>My relationship with Method began back in 2006 when my son started as an infant. He is a senior in High School now and my daughter is a sophomore in high school. I have been on the board since 2010 and served as the Parent Group leader and Board Chair, Vice Chair, and Community Service Chair. I have been active with Method in originally forming the Jan Sharp Scholarship Fund and fundraising to support families who need affordable childcare with no other options. I am also passionate about connecting youth like scouts to assist in community service. I strive to find community connections to benefit Method’s mission to help with word of mouth marketing. Lastly, I believe in the value of fostering lasting staff relationships that improve Method’s quality of care and customer service. I graduated from NC State University with a Biological Engineering degree as well as an Environmental Science and Communications minor. I also received a Maser’s from NC State University in Natural Resources and a NC registered Professional Engineer. My entire professional career I have worked for the State of North Carolina. Originally, I started in the NC Office of Environmental Education. Today, I have 26 years of service with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. I am the Chief of Habitat Conservation Division and supervise a staff of 15 who are located across the state. I firmly believe in the mission of Method to embrace ALL family diversity and showing our children that everyone has an opportunity to thrive together.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My relationship with Method began in 2018, driven by my deep commitment to nurturing the next generation into capable leaders and valuable contributors to our community. While my own children did not attend Method, I bring with me a wealth of experience accumulated over 27 years of involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. My journey within the Boy Scouts began in 1st grade as a Cub Scout, progressing through the ranks and ultimately achieving the Eagle Scout rank. For over a decade now, I have continued to pass on the torch of leadership by establishing and overseeing a troop in Raleigh. As of 2023, the scouts have successfully completed 9 service projects, offering opportunities for the youth to both learn and grow in the outdoor spaces provided by Method. My motivation to be part of Method closely aligns with the core mission of the Scouting movement: the construction of a resilient and diverse community. It all begins with our youth and the impact we, as adults, can have in fostering diversity within our society while continuing to build the foundations of our community.</image:caption>

Over these five years, Method has become an extension of our family and our family has built lasting relationships with the staff and other families. I am a Research Project Manager and Evaluation Specialist with UNC-Chapel Hill at the Carolina Population Center. <image:caption>My relationship with Method began in Fall 2007 when we moved close to Method and my 3-year old son, Sam, switched schools to Method. I began attending the parent group meetings and eventually became the chair of the parent’s group. I joined the board as the parent’s group chair in 2010. I have served as Vice Chair and have been the Treasurer for many years, which puts me on the finance committee. Sam is now a Freshman at UNC-C. My youngest son, Franklin, also attended Method. When Method’s finances were low, I served as the bookkeeper. When we are between directors I have been responsible for payroll. I have a BS in Food Science and a MEd in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University. I am the ILC Math Center Coordinator of the Southern Wake Campus of Wake Tech Community College. In the ILC we offer free tutoring to Wake Tech students. I tutor both Math and General Chemistry. I also have a private tutoring business and have a few clients each year. I am very invested in education. I work tirelessly for Method so that students are educated at an early age and I work tirelessly at Wake Tech to help students succeed in their courses so they can graduate, become employed, and be able to care for themselves and their families.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My personal connection to Method dates back to around 2015, when I joined the Board to contribute to early childhood care and education. My decision to serve is rooted in a desire to give back, inspired by two individuals who created a child care center for low-income children without compensation for their service. This Center later evolved into a federally funded Head Start program, where I began my career in Early Childhood Education in 1997. My desire to serve on the Method Child Development Center's board is rooted in the same spirit of service that initially opened the door to my first professional job and I aspire to create similar opportunities for others. My educational background includes completion of a bachelor's and master's degree in Family Studies and Child Development. I have 26 years of experience in early childhood care and education. I have served as a director/executive director for various Head Start programs, a University Child Care Center, and Developmental Child Development Center. I have also worked as a Child Care licensing consultant for the Division of Child Development and Early Education and a Federal Head Start Training and Technical Assistance Specialist. Currently, I serve as an Early Childhood Education Instructor and Mentor, and I am pursuing my Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.</image:caption>
